Hi all,

Looking to buy an ebike for my daily commute to work (7 miles each way relatively hilly) and trips to visit my parents (4 miles but steep). I'm 65kg, 5ft11 relatively fit. What ebike should I get, price range is anything under £2000

Have a slight preference for mid drive motor and hub gearing. Also hydraulic disk brakes. Lower weight would also be preferable (but happy to be convinced out of this requirement)

Was considering the Ridgeback eflight 2018 or there's a good deal on th Trek UMI +400 anyone got any experience of these?

Thanks in advance

hi,
you don't have to spend that much money on a commuting bike.
keep it as simple as possible for maximum reliability: hard tail or road bike, hydraulic brakes, internal cable routing etc as you would with a non electric bike.
I prefer my bike with in-frame battery, less showy, it does not say 'I am electric!'.
For your requirement, I would recommend my Woosh Faro or Camino.
