Does this mean that the more closely an ebike resembles an ordinary bike, the bigger the cheat? Are those that ride the Cytronex bike therefore complete bounders?
It does, I never went to Eton, I'm not posh and I say f*ck you all :D:D I'm a cheater and proud to be one.

In fact I cheat so much that I sometimes transport my Cytronex in my 4x4 then ride around, so a double cheat am I !

Cycling = obligatory hardship & suffering.

As an act of repentance for my deceitful cheating Cytronex ways, I shall replace the saddle with a rusty spike.

Are you selling tickets for your debut on your new saddle? :D:D

Flecc & Tillson have nailed it. At last I've seen the light... I'm cheating. Great fun. I was most definately cheating when I overtook a couple of sporty cyclists uphill last night. Ahhh the power of the Boost button.

So that's the reason I don't wear lycra.

As long as bikes are seen as little amusements for recreation and 'sport' we will be called cheats by people who have little knowledge of vehicles beyond the 4x4's they use for nipping to the shops.

When called a cheat, fun retorts to try :

"I know, isn't it great!!".
"Why should I sweat getting to work?"
"electricity is cheaper than food"

I'm sure readers can come up with more. I intend to use the "Where were you in February" line. Consider it stolen...:p
How about "...meh! Bye."

Yes, it was a couple of young kids, who I know don't cycle, calling out "cheat" to me who showed me this truth. Unlike the sport cyclists who have additional reasons for the accusation, it was just the perception of me pretending to be what I wasn't that prompted those kids.
.
It is absolutely obvious that my bikes are electric, I don't hide the battery in a pannier, backpack etc. it's there for all to see, a feature in fact. My bikes say "look at me I'm electric"

And Mussels, your dead right mate, those cheaters on they're £3,000 bikes, how dare they!

I've never been called a cheat, even by lycras (or maybe I'm going too fast to notice) :D round here people tend not to treat every aspect of life as a race (there is in fact a popular car sticker saying "Don't rush me, I'm from Suffolk.." )

unfortunately not at this time but I know some ladies who are planning on setting up a communal farm and might want people to help them - I am not kidding (some have the goats have been though) :D

the pace of life is slowly starting to speed up here too unfortunately, although there is a much more tolerant attitude to bikes of all kinds.

Actually saw another chap today on one of those half bike half "moped" type things (he looked like he was dressed to go fishing)

Excellent sticker - on many levels - I used to live close to the Norfolk/Suffolk border (Loddon) and can relate to that!

Now Fishermen, and conservation, and access to rivers, and disputes with kayakers - there is a whole can of worms which would make the occasional accusation of cheating thrown in the direction of an ebiker pale into insignificance! Probably best left to other forums though I guess!! (not saying the cylomoped riding chap in suffolk had any gripes with kayakers - just that many activities will have issues with those who dont understand or agree)

All the best
