Has anyone else had dealings with Crystalyte Europe?

I've been trying to simply place an order with them for over a week now just waiting for them to send me an email order form simply because what I need is not listed on the website.

I have called several times to be told it will be with me "this afternoon" on two separate occasions and also"in 5 minutes", needless to say it still isn't with me.

You'd think they would want my money but I feel fobbed off, probably due to the fact I'm a retail rather than commercial customer.. Still pretty poor in my opinion; honesty costs nothing...tell me it's a week or two in the first place an I won't keep ringing wondering where it is!

Disappointing for sure :(

How much are you paying for your kit ?

It might be worth putting your business elsewhere.

The motor is 250 euros as listed on their website, I called and asked if they could supply it in a brompton wheel... No problem at all they said, we'll type up the order and send it to you... I'm still waiting for the price and the order form grrrrr!

I could just order the motor from their website but of course it's like waiting for a bus...how much longer do you give it before giving up...seemed too easy and good to be true.

Hopefully they will come through this week, it would make my life so much easier.

They told me there were going to have the brompton motor in january and I waited until march... and they still didn't have it.

Since then, I'm purchasing a mac motor :)

I've been following your thread with interest and I can't say I'm not tempted to go lightweight as well... I really think I will appreciate the 800w peak of the crystalyte on hills though! It's worth the extra 2.2kg for me.

This poor little tongxin wouldn't live very long with me lol.

I need something that can handle at least 700W continuous. :p

ps: My heavier conhismotor hub (4.6kg) does 3000W peak and 1000W continuous without breaking a sweat. :)

I ordered a crystalyte 5305 from them, the paperwork said it was a 5305. I found out it was a 5303 initially by checking the performance using the ebikes.ca simulator, confirmed by measuring winding resistance. It took a while but eventually accepted their error.....

Hi Benjy,

I am not sure if you are just looking for a motor or you want a complete kit, but have you considered taking the eZee option?
Cyclezee are UK based suppliers of eZee products and have the complete range of kits in stock.

I think Benjy is looking for a kit for a Brompton. That's why he's trying to get the Crystalyte G209.

Why any other hub, he would need to go quite DIY and perform fork extension.

Cwah is correct....it is a Brompton I am converting; very few motors will do this for me. The Crystalyte is the only decent powered motor that I can find with 74mm dropout.

I have been phoning daily and was told this morning that I will receive the order form today....haha only the 5th time I've been told that!

Finally I have managed to submit my order! I suspect that there was a supply issue but rather than be honest about it I have been fobbed off for 2 weeks with "it'll be with you today" every day!

Ah well it should be on it's way soon. :)

You've got some good suppliers there, and Crystalyte Europe. Ed Lyen makes good controllers, he also has lots of other bits and pieces (throttles, connectors, voltage converters etc.) and lots of knowledge!
