I'm planning to adapt a Currie Electrodrive. I need to know the chain size that it uses. I'm being told by some that it's 6mm and by others it's #25. Can someone please tell me definitively what size it is?
Thanks

Hi Paul. you aren't the Paul from the BVWS site are you? If so Welcome!

The Currie chain is 1/4 X 1/4 bushing chain, also called no25 in the US of A. Decent roller chain is not available in this size, unfortunately.

I got my length of Renolds Chain from Mecro in Luton, but I think they have gone to the wall now.

Thanks for the response, I had given up hoping anyone knew:(
I can't be the Paul from BVWS because I don't know what it is!
I can't get anything from googling "Mecro Luton" so I guess they are defunct.
I don't understand the difference between roller chain and bushing chain, can you enlighten me? Any idea of another source of supply?
Thanks, again,
Paul
