Gutted for you cwah, I can see how much effort you put into creating that bike. Worth keeping an eye on Facebook Marketplace as well, always seems to be plenty of hooky looking power tools etc. for sale on there. Hoping it finds it's way back to you soon.

Really sorry to hear this.
If there is any logo on the bike you could try advertising a charger with that name on ebay.
You have my sympathies!
It's a giant revive. But a very old model. All is custom... He'll see he can't find any charger for it

He can try. It still needs in depth specialist knowledge to use this bike. Or even to sell part of it.

Did you contact the police or ebay? What happened?
I contacted both

Plod called me back 2 weeks later, a week after the eBay auction ended, to tell me they couldn't / wouldn't have intervened anyway

Still waiting to hear back from eBay

Sorry to hear about the theft, Gumtree is most likely place for it to appear, if it does I suggest enlisting a couple of big friends and then arranging to view and test riding into the sunset .....

So you called the police on 999 and they didn't do anything?

Very irritating and more having a bike stolen, my commiserations to cwah.

BUT not a 999 situation. (unless maybe you can actually see the thieves making off with the bike and there's a chance the police will catch them red-handed)

Good video, pity there was no mention of a really noisy alarm. It wouldn't stop a thief nicking your bike but it draws attention so passers by get a good look.

If you have a tracking device fitted then you can dial 999 as it counts as a crime in progress.
In London at least the police won't do anything, not even if the tracking device has been located at a specific address.

That is astonishing! When I spoke to Hertfordshire police they said to ring 999 if my bike was stolen and trackable and they seemed quite interested in helping. Hopefully I will never have to put it to the test.

London police was pointless. I filed the claim and some police guy called me while I was at work so went into the voicemail and told me to email him. I did but the he never answered back....

Yep, it happened to a customer of a bike shop I was talking to in London. To get the police to do anything he had to lie and say that he'd actually seen the house occupier riding his bike.

Sorry to hear that but you will get back and I will suggest the Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7 I think this is also a good lock for ebike.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but does anyone know if the OP ever got his bike back? I plan on taking mine folded everywhere on a small folding trolley, plus I bought this GPS bike tracker:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tracker-Anti-Robo-Waterproof-Warning-Trackers/dp/B07XLHWDJF/

The "shock detection" text takes 7 seconds to arrive, giving it's precise GPS location, which you can also get by texting the device at any time. There is also a "speed alarm text", which tells you if your bike is being moved in a vehicle travelling faster than X mph. The LED light is a small red beam, which you can point at drivers approaching. I decided against enabling any data connections and with texts sent only, it'll cost about £20 a year in topups using a Giffgaff sim. If my bike is wrested away from my hands and the Police are not interested... I'll put on my Batman costume, track the thieves down in their lair, and bash some heads with a steel Batarang to get my bike back. Or I'll steal it back.

Overall, I'm pleased with this device. Here are it's functions and destructions:
