Hi, I have a Cyclamatic Power Plus for sale that needs just a little bit of TLC but should be a bargain bike for someone.

I used to do a 14 mile return commute on this bike but since changing jobs and needing a car for work it's now in need of a new home.

The bike has a schwalbe marathon plus tyre on the rear to give pretty decent protection against any punctures and a Specialised something or other on the front. the battery has been kept indoors all through its life and regularly topped up although I would possible need to do a test ride to confirm that the bike will still do over 10 miles on a charge. I bought the bike in sepember of 2011 so just less than 3.5 years old.

The main negative with the bike is that the front forks will probably need to be replaced, they still work to a degree but have developed a fault with the plastic bushes that hold them in place. I've fixed them in a locked position using jubilee clips but someone with the skills would probably be better off changing them for a second hand decent set. the brakes could also do with some adjustment and the mudguards may be missing (I have them somewhere but can't guarantee I will find them). front brake has been replaced from the original with a shimano to stop the squeeling that is a characteristic of this bike if left original.

this is a pretty good price for this bike and I thoroughly enjoyed riding it to work every day. The main reason I have to get rid is because I now have two other e-bikes and the missus is complaining about them all taking over the back room.

Sorry but pickup only as I can't be bothered sending through the post as it's too much hassle.

If anyone is interested just message me and I will get some photos up when I have a chance, hopefully tonight.

Thanks
Joe

Hi jcubbin, I have just bought a 2nd hand cyclamatic power plus, went to collect today and test rode for 10 mins and everything seemed ok. Got home, tryed again, battery dead. Tryed to charge, got the green light after 15-20 minutes on the charging pack, tryed again, got just over 10 mins ride before it died again. Basically been sold a good bike with a nearly dead battery. Anyway would you consider selling me your battery by itself? What do you think its maximum range is bearing in mind its age?

Much appreciated

Hi pdamett, You make a good point but I would prefer just to buy the battery if you would consider selling separate?

Sorry gents, should have updated this post after I had sold the bike.

I managed to sell the bike the week after I done the 10 mile journey on it. I wanted to make sure that whoever was buying it was going to get a guaranteed number of miles from a fully charged battery and not encounter the same problem that you've ran in to.

If you do have to get another battery check through the forum posts first as you may be able to install a 36v battery rather than the standard 24v one. You will get faster top speed as well as a larger capacity that should fit straight on or you may be able to get the original battery re-celled. best check all of this with D8veh first but I'm sure he had a number of historical posts regarding this type of thing.

I'd say it's worth keeping the cyclamatic as they are quite a nice comfortbale and enjoyable ride, great for commuting on. the only reason I got rid of mine was that I've got a new bosch powered bike for off road use and didn't have the space to keep the cyclamatic aswell as everything else.

Sorry if I have put this question in the wrong place - I can't see how to start a new post. I have Cyclamatic Powerplus that cuts out after a few minutes. I have borrowed another battery and it's the same. A friend is using my battery on his bike with no problems.
Is this going to be a controller problem?
If it is where van I get one?
Many thanks, Alan
