Cycle route

Just seen an article on East Midland Today about creating a 60mile circular cycle route around the Peak District, incorporating The Monsall Trail High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail. Of course it all comes down to a matter of finance which is a bit short at the moment. It is hoped that the route will attract thousands of people to the Peak District. Have not managed to find the link yet but will post if I do.

It would be great ride especially if it was traffic free as well. I think the Monsall trail is already one of the most scenic cycle routes in the country with suprise views at the exit of every tunnel. Extending it traffic free into Buxton would be a big bonus.

I saw the same article and I hope that the funding needed to complete the route can be found.

Only this afternoon I saw a huge pool of spare labour squatting on the steps of the local church. Instead of drinking fruit juice laced with vodka at lunch time, wouldn't it be better for them to be in The Peak District, grafting on this cycle route, earning their state handout, learning skills and getting some fresh air into their lungs? I also passed something called a "Social Inclusion Unit" (sometimes known as a load of *******) which seemed to be council funded. I have just written to the them and suggest that they close it with immediate effect and divert the funding into building the cycle path.

I expect to be using this new circular route by the end of 2012 now that I have identified a cost effective way of building it.
