Hi….I need to look at and better understand a Cytronex bike, I live in Wakefield but I get about a bit,
Beverley / Hull, Thirsk area, Chester, and I hoped someone who lives in any of these areas, has one and would let me visit to see the bike, not to ride it but to better understand just how it works.

At present I am riding an X-bike which I bought in October. It’s ok at present while a combination of cold weather, icy roads and the threat of snow stops me from travelling far from home and limits my rides to some 15 mile trips but come the better weather I need to decide whether to buy a second battery or buy a Cytronex .

Unfortunately the X-bike does not lend itself , for me at least, to cycling without power and in a couple of months I’m going to want to travel 30 miles and I will be in trouble without another battery.
I don’t mind pedalling and I get the impression from the Cytronex thread that this bike is more in keeping with my normal mountain bike and if it ran out of power I would still be ok.

In May / June I intend to visit the south of England and hope, while in the area, to visit Winchester for a test ride and perhaps purchase a Cytronex but I would not want to buy without knowing more.

So…if anyone who owns a Cytronex and wouldn’t mind my seeing it I would appreciate there getting in touch..

….thanks for reading….Mike

Hi Mike. I showed recently that during the life of a thread on this front page, only about 10% of the membership come into the site and see it, so it will be worth you "bumping" it up a few times as I'm doing now to reach more of the membership.

If you get no responses, possibly you'd consider the forthcoming Presteigne event, quite a bit south of Chester but you could check with Cytronex whether they intend to be there.

Another possibility is that Chris_Bike lives about the same distance south of Chester at Birmingham, and he's an enthusiastic Cytronex owner always keen to promote them. Although he doesn't come into the site much, he has his email permission open so you could email him if that location is convenient to you, and I'm quite sure he would be happy to hear from you and give access to his bike. Here's the link to email him: Chris_Bike

Hi Mike

I've had a Cytronex since last September and it's been a great bike. One of the best purchases I've ever made. The range of about 20 Miles, assisted, per charge wouldn't suit the long distance riders though.

I take it you've checked out the 2 web sites www.cytonex.com and no-hills.com. I've no idea whether they selling the 2009 range yet or what.

Happy to answer any questions you have but I'm down in the Midlands so a bit out of your way.

I suppose you could always take a 2nd battery with you. Although I guess that would counter the weight advantage of the Cytronex. :)

But still, it's nice to have that as an option. We don't always want to travel greater than 20 miles. So it's nice to have the option to travel light.

I would probabaly get myself a Cytronex if it had chunkier wheels. Does it have slim wheels (rims), or is it just the tyres that are slim?.
