OK, OK, I am knackered, been out on the bike with a GoPro that I cobbled a connection to my helmet, its normally on they handle bars so apologies for the knocking sound of the fixing, anyway it did the job

IMG_3268.JPG

I did my first run through the treacle of 15.5mph, kept up the power driving through and hit 25.5mph, you will see this on the stills I took from the video. Next run I hit 26mph, again I have taken stills from this as I was going so fast the camera was blurring, plus my contraption fitting the camera to the helmet was a bit wonky.

So here is my attempt at videoing :p

Here are the stills:

Snap 2016-09-17 at 17.59.55, 818x533.png Snap 2016-09-17 at 17.57.05, 923x697.png Snap 2016-09-17 at 17.55.07, 527x388.png Snap 2016-09-17 at 17.53.09, 1077x713.png

This was a short power burst, the electrics cut out at 15.5mph and your legs can only do so much with the gearing, I am having my belt sprocket changed from 22 cogs to 20 at my next service, I will see how much further this lets me push the bike, hopefully I will be able to burn off Soundwave easily :)

Notice how silent the Daimler Mercedes Designer Smart eBike is
The cam is not mounted on the bike.. When a physical metal to metal contact is made by mounting the cam on the bike the motor noise is exaggerated by transmission through the frame.
My Giant/ Yamaha is whisper quiet and as its a better design you would be able to easily pedal it faster than your not so smart really e-bike.
Note I dont say "I" could, as its a bit subjective..
To give more substance.. Today I rode 16 miles in normal (mode 2 of 3) and used 13% of the battery.. suggesting 100 miles could be possible.. Could your Smart ebike do 100 miles on a charge?

Hmm, OK will try it mounted to the bike again later.

I can get just short of 70 miles on a battery, more if I regenerate and turn down the power, even off, I find I can easily drop 4 bars to 3 with little difference, so every little helps as they say. I carry a spare battery if I am on a day out so have a huge range, the beauty of the Daimler Mercedes Designer Smart eBike is that you can't really see the battery, you are so taken in with the artistic design :p

Does your bike regenerate power?

Does your bike turn heads?

:D

Yes my bike turns heads, and it doesnt need to regenerate. In fact if you put yours and mine side by side and asked 100 bikers which they would prefer I dont think it would be yours.. but I could be wrong..

About brands..
I own an Audi with a fancy engine and gearbox that has 7 gears and 2 clutches and cost a packet.
Exactly the same tech is available in a Skoda at a much much less price with half the depreciation.. It just doesnt looks as good, but which is best?

It's downhill in the direction you went. You should have done the return leg in the opposite direction to get an average speed.

Here's what mine does when I get a bit of downhill. No motor noise because it's freewheeling.

I've done 147 miles on that same bike since I last recharged the 10Ah battery, and it's still going. No need for regen when you can go that far, and no need to carry a spare battery.

My bike is a designed bike, not a designer one. That's why it's so good - designed for performance rather than to give more fluff to the iphone brigade:
