I just stumbled across this store for Decathlon spares. they have just about all the Decathlon parts, including LCDs, torque sensors, controllers and motor wheels. The prices are very reasonable - as cheap if not cheaper than ebike kits. The best items are the ready-built motor wheels for £150. Motors are universal, so if you need a replacement motor for any bike, these would be a good solution. In theory, you could get the Rockrider ST500 torque sensor, controller and LCD to convert your bike to torque sensor operation.

Nice one VFR, if it isn't a full on thread hijack I'm wondering whether one of their controllers and lcd might be a good fit for the broken BESV PAS1 I have at the moment. It seems to have a BB torque sensor

It's a bit of a gamble.
