Hello,

I'm new here and not very fluent in English. I hope you understand.

Can someone describe in detail the differences between the Swizzbee 50C and 25C? I'm well-informed about the mechanics, but not the electrical stuff. Is the electronics in the battery case identical? If not, what exactly is different? I mean the electronics in the 24-volt model.

Thank you, hopefully see you soon!

25C is the legal EN15194 model and top speed is limited to 25km/h.
50c is the S pedelec version with no speed limit, it can achieve 45 - 50km/h.
Both have 0.25kw drive motor.

Battery case electronics will differ slightly as one is speed limited.
25c & 50c use the same OEM battery .

The Swizzbee 50C is now considered a rare and obsolete piece of electric bike history, with limited repair options due to its unique components.
The mounted mid motor is a Heinzman BLDC , the motor is was a one off experimental design.

The weak link in the bike is the Sram dual drive .

What are you looking for in an ebike? Police have started to take an interest in bikes that dont conform to the regs in recent months.

Even so if you can provide details of your expectations and requirements ie range and the sort of local landscape (hills etc) your dealing with. We can point you at bikes and options that meet your needs without breaking the bank or the regs.

Buying 2nd use branded ebikes can be a minefield, Systems and features designed to hamper diy repair/maintenance from simple but exclusive plug/socket connectors, to completely closed and locked down firmware systems designed to self brick when 'tampering' is detected, are very common and often show stopping. Replacing built in components with generic bolt on replacements will often ruin the appeal of many elegant/sleek bike designs, leaving voids in the frame etc..

If your considering a 2nd use purchase post specific details of the bike inc any pics of the display/interface/controls and any battery/controller labels and connections easily accessible.
Then those with vast experience can asses and give you a thumbs up or down accordingly..

As one can see from my profile pic , I own a 50c .
I have two 50c's one in working order and one a bit poorly and worn out.
I converted mine (from Nicad) to run on Lion and use two battery packs in parallel, one using lg HE2 and the other panasonic PF.

A working Swizzbee is a very rare bike today.
