Yes kept the swarf off the magnets. Had to be quite delicate with it.
As the disc was quite large.

The bearings are off the shelf jobs. So easily found and brought. I replaced both bearings as the smaller one was only a fiver virtually so seemed daft not to.

The sound I think is coming from the actual motor as it spins. I get the distinct feeling it's the bearing that connects cage housing to axel for the windings or the clutch. As I think it spins rough.

It free wheels very well now and much nicer than it used to but the noise from the clutch or other bearing is a horrible graunchy sound. So I maybe replacing another bearing internally in the motor.
I'll take a look today when I get back from sunny burton.

When you take it apart again, have a look around for shiny metal on the surfaces, it could be a clearance issue.

Took it apart and used silicone lube as well as regreased.
Its better but still noisey. Think something has killed the inner bearing that holds the cage on that spins.

Anyone ever replaced the inner bearings at all?

The clutch also appears to be locked in place and doesn't seem to want to free itself.

On the upside even with it cogging it rotates very well.
Might just have to buy another bpm and keep this one for spares...

Sorry to hear you are still having troubles Scotty. I would have suggested using some parts from the broken BPM from Jason, but it's in the back of my mates van and i'm unlikely to see it for a week or two. It would still need stripping down completely.
Are you able to strip your motor down any further to see where the noise is coming from?
I suppose another BPM would be the easiest option or.......treat yourself to a MAC from cell man. Jason was very impressed with his when i spoke to him.

Its quieter now from my first commute with it today. Its definetly not a clearence issue.
Its the actual cage bearing thats a bit lumpy. As the sound then resonates through the hub.

It works really well and although the clutch appears to be stuck still rolls much better than it used to. Obaviously becasue of the bearing failure.

It appears the wear to the inner bearing on the cage that rotates has also took a bearing and ideally to get it quiet / silent again requires me to strip it down further. However I'm not sure how to get to that bearing...

On another note I used the following Lubes on the hub plus selant to stop the water.
