Either the constant bombardment of flies in the face through the summer months or the wind chil in the face riding around the lanes today:eek:

Ideas on a helmet that can have a visor please! something that doesn`t look too far out of place on a bike would be nice.

And finally!!! Happy Christmas and a safe new year riding your e bikes:D

Much prefer summer (flies and all) :D . Ive only been using my cargo bike for short shopping trips the past few weeks as it's been just too cold and slippy to enjoy a long ride on my Pro Connect

Hope the thaw comes soon. Happy Christmas to all forum members.:)

I'd probably take summer flies over the wind chill most days, at least swallowing flies is a decent source of protein!

Try to make sure that your Hamster doesn't get caught between the bike wheel and the treadmill. It makes a dreadful mess if it does. A cocktail stick will help you get the bits out of the tyre tread, should the worst happen. You can then delight your friends with Hanster Tapas.

Well I agree that the flies are slightly easier to take but when you live smack bang in the middle of farmland the flies really are a PITA and remember last summer both my wife and I were stung (mine was in the ear if you remember)

I`m sure a helmet with a open bottm visor would cut the wind from your forehead and eyes and deflect the flies. You might say that it might not look the part but I rarely see anyone when riding out in the wilds and more so with my balaclava on no body recognises me anyway:(

I went for the bad weather ski goggles. Sounds extreme but they don't look too out of place under a cycle helmet and they've got excellent visibility. Because the ski goggles have a foam seal all around them you can't steam them up with your breath either.

If it gets really cold I wear my thin fleece ski balaclava underneath. Coupled with the ski goggles there are no exposed parts of my head and to be honest I reckon I could go out in -40C without any problems.

I bought a Seirus neofleece comfort masque earlier this week. I wouldn't want to walk into the bank wearing it, but it seems to cure my problem of keeping my face warm without steaming up my glasses.
Happy Christmas all :)

Well, I Google searched for images of a bike helmet and visor, and got a few hits, of which this looked the best:

Bicycle Helmet Visor | Bicylce Accessories | Sports & Active Games | Sports & Toys | Products

but at nearly £40 (and that's just for the sodding VISOR) I can't see many takers. Not a bad idea, though I wonder about it steaming up with hot breath.

Allen.
Good grief! They certainly know how to charge, that's for sure. I'd be inclined to cut one out of polycarb sheet and probably do a better job of that terribly weak-looking pivot point, too.

Have you seen the helmet (it's to the right of the visor)? Quite a nice looking job, but at £133, another laugh!
