Hi all,

So I posted on here a few months ago about converting a bike for my sister's coast to coast ride. She did it, all went very well, she was the only one on a converted e-bike amongst all the Bosch e-bikes.

She wanted a dropper post fitted , so it's an extra small frame, so I was thinking of a 100mm dropper post , that seems the smallest. Also there's no hole in the frame for the cable to come out, can I just drill a hole? any tips on placement ?

Are the ones for £50 on Ali a express OK ?

Have a look at bike frames with droppers fitted for guidance on where. Not too close to the BB.

Nice clean hole will reduce the chance of fatigue cracks starting from it.

How did she feel how the bike rode compared to the Boshers around her ?
Did she feel they were having an easier time of it or were they puffing/ exerting more ?

She was queen of the hills on the 48v TSDZ8, nobody could keep up with her up the hills. She did say on the flat the Boshers seemed to have a slightly higher motor assist cut out speed (I'd set her bike to 15.5 mph) I wondered if they were taking advantage of the 10% tolerance ? I'd be interested if someone with a Bosch powered bike would do a GPS speed test

Ah she had the mid drive , I though it was a hub bike.
Goes to show a £600 mid drive kit can be as good if not beetr in some instances then a 2k bike.
Greater hill climbing ability is better to have then outright flat speed , though with my TSDZ2 I find it nice topedal without power. Mine max's out at 20mph but I do need to reprogramme it really to be in street mode.

I have had the BBS01 and the GSM , by far my experience say's the TSDZ2 is far the better drive.

Mine is groaning after just a few hundred miles. If I don't use it for a few days, it starts groaning for about 5 miles, then goes back to quiet mode. It needs a strip down and regrease.

oh this one does a 100m external routed one which looks like would fit a small seat post tube

70mm here
Trans x, comes with a dropper lever, so at least you don't have to buy one of those too.
Only down sides are you're stuck for post diameters at only 31.8 and its internal.

Just remember to go easy on the seat clamp, too tight and the post gubbins might be damaged, or at best not function smoothly

I think the QC is a bit hit and miss , mine isn't ultra quiet but it operates and rides very well. It feels so much better then the cadence BBS01 I had many years ago.
Mine is now in to it's third year of usage .
