I think i was the guy you saw outside Maplins It was purchase Via Amazon UK & the Battery via E Bay its 36volt 250 watt with a 10ah battery i live in south of MK have traveled to Tongewell ,Stony Stratford With no problems.
I would recon i get about 12 to 15 miles on 1 charge ideally i like a bit more but i can live with it
The idear of charging post would be interesting for top ups if away from your bike for a couple hours (ie CMK shopping centre Tesco or Asda) but they would have be Secure areas as there are a lot of light fingered people about & i think that would be a problem

Yes that was me outside Maplins, it's a small world

There is a scheme called http://www.cyclecharge.org.uk/ where members can recharge their batteries, but there are only 3 places in MK where this is available and I am one of the them.

As for CMK, there are lots of charge points for cars but none for bikes
