I was coming up past Lyon on my motorbike

Did you just ride by Jim or did you stop off? Lyon is one of my favourite cities and it has a superb bike-hire network as well as possibly the best public transport system anywhere.

Eating out is a particular joy there although it can be a little expensive. For anyone who hasn't been there, it's up there with Barcelona, Paris, Prague and Copenhagen for short-break holidays.

If Beethovens dad was a cobler , the first tool he bought would be his last . I will only explain that if asked . On my ride today , I noticed that " Ode to Joy " corresponds to a cadence of about 70 RPM , which is about right for me on steady rides .So , for the time being , it has replaced Earth Angel as earworm of the day . @Indalo . One of my favourite cities is Antwerp . The tree lined streets in spring are a sight to behold .

I stopped there for 1 night on the way down but got there at 9:00pm and it was dark. On the way back I was "making progress" so didn't stop. I was on one of my whirlwind tours of Europe. These days I get the Newcastle/Amsterdam ferry so take a different route.

I also have helmet speakers and MP3s so no more earworms.
