ok.. so the extra red/orange cable from the controller has to be connected to the battery, also connected to a cable from the throttle.. the throttle has a connector and 3 other cables. 2 the ends are connected with some electrical tape. that leaves a yellow cable. do I take that yellow cable, sorder it with the spare cable fromt the controller then connect them to the battery? thanks.

Green and brown together go to the thin red wire on the controller, and the yellow goes to the battery +ve. That way, the lights on the throttle will only be on when the controller is giving power.

It's better if you have the brake switches to cut the power when you apply the brakes. You should use them if you can.

Depends how much you peddle and terrain. With a similar battery and ku63 controller I used to get 6 to 10 watt miles which mean a huge range of 40 miles. Id probably say it's good for 30miles.

I am currently riding without a brake sensor. It is dangerous. Even on my route which is mainly traffic free it is possible to get caught out by an unexpected event - fortunately for me I was able to avoid the white van that stopped in front of me ...

You don't have a brake cut out on a car or motorbike. Why would you need one on an ebike??

The only real reason I can think of is to cut cruise control or if you want to cut out the pedelec sensor quicker than it naturally stops.

True.. I forgot to mention that the only way I have to stop my assist on my stoke monkey is to depress the assist button! ... in my special case an active brake sensor would be helpfull! ...

Have a read of this, which I tend to agree with. I'm not sure about the idea of conditionimg a battery by running it right down, which our forum members seem to support. Some batteries have meters in tthem that need to be set by using the batteries full range, but, if you don't have one of those, just use your battery and charge it up when you can and don't leave it on the charger unnecessarily.

Hello takue1

I am about to order the same kit and battery like you for my dahon boardwalk. I would appreciate it if you could give me some info. Did the kit and battery fit the bike well? Are you satisfied with the power of the motor? (top speed?)
My dahon has the same rear rack as yours (curbs front and rear). How did you manage to fit the battery?
If you could share some photos that' be great, thank you

hello there.. sorry for getting back to you late... there were 2 issues with the kit. first the Front forks had to resized by my local bike shop. the forks on the Dahon speed D7 are 74mm. the kit is 83mm.. and the other was the rack.. i went to a home depot and bought a metal saw for 8 dollars and modified the Rack also had to get some longer screws to mount the metal plate that attatches to the Rack. i cable tied the controller right between the back wheel and the frame there is space there and it fit just fine.
i love this kit. the 250w motor gets me up the bridge and all the hills i come accross. i pedal slightly up the bigger hills but not much.. i will post a photo soon. thanks.
