I have been researching tow bar mounted bike carriers capable of carrying two ebikes (21kgs each) it looks like two choices.
Cykell or Thule 316, they both seem to do a similar job with the Thule £100 or more cheaper. The fact that they fold down to access and open the tailgate is paramount to me as I have a small campervan (Toyota HIAce) with a lifting rear tailgate and to make the bed etc it is very important that I can gain easy access. Can anyone tell me how they get on with this folding feature especially with a hatchback type rear opening please. Are there any other racks suitable for the above bikes that are not tow ball mounted.

Found this on Thule New Zealand website it answers my own question
  • Foot-pedal-tilt for easy and convenient boot access while the carrier and bikes are mounted. A built-in stop prevents the bikes from touching the ground. The wide tilt-angle enables opening of even very large rear-doors without interfering with the carrier (e.g. VW T5).
