Hey guys I've finally talked my father into taking the plunge and purchasing an ebike his budget is no more than £1000 as the title says looking for recommendations for a decent machine for the money, not looking for a city or step through type bike it needs to be either a mtb or hybrid style, I've just been on the woosh website and they have some decent looking bikes for they money would his money be well spent on one of these?

Thanks in advance guys.

I would suggest the Big Bear or the Bali. The Bear is hub drive, the Bali is crank drive. Hub drives are for more relax riding, meaning with crank drive, he has to think of selecting the right gear. The Bali has the battery in the triangle and lower rear rack, meaning easier to mount if he has stiff leg joints.
If he is interested in the Bear, he should wait for the next batch, arriving on May 10th. The new Bear is £20 dearer but fitted with Ounce 243 forged alloy crankset, nicer than the Neco crankset on the current Bear. Otherwise, it's the same bike.

Ounce forged alloy crankset and KMC X8 chain on new Big Bear and Big Bear LS:
