Hi! After 2 weeks of ecycling in France for the am looking for a bike for home use.. just pottering about with the family, nothing too demanding! Had intended to spend very little but the bike I ordered for £500 arrived broken and was a bit shoddy . Test rode a Fumo X yesterday... a folder. More than I wanted to pay at £1700 and was actually too fast... I only need assistance as I’ve arthritis in my knee, I don’t need speed. Only needed the 1st assistance level.., 5 was terrifying!! Didn’t like the gears being in a lever... would prefer a change in the grip. Thinking now I won’t get a folder as it’s not the main priority, and I liked the riding position of the big wheeled Dutch (step through?) bike I used in France. Any suggestions of bikes or even good places to check them out (would want to test ride) appreciated, am based in Staffordshire but happy to travel to find the right one. Ideally like to spend under 1.5k. I’m 5’ 7” and a heavier rider..,Thanks in advance!

Take a look at the Woosh Santana3: good for up to 18st and hilly areas, £1,099.
The Santana has an excellent motor, Bafang SWX02, you don't need to change gears. Range about 50 miles with the 36V 15AH, 60 miles with the 17AH battery.

It sounds like you don't want to spend to much so you are looking at a hub bike.
Woosh are known for very good reliable bikes with great CS.

For a no nonsense cheaper bike have a look at the Kudos Cycles range of dutch style/step thru bikes. https://www.kudoscycles.com/index.php?intro=done

That sounds good, though unsure how I’d get on without gears? Do you have distributors nationwide?

Thank you I will... have just borrowed a neighbours Coyote Connect and though heavy I preferred it to the Furo!

it has normal 7-speed derailleur.
Bikes with hub motors let you optimise your pedaling to your natural cadence. You choose a gear that suits your heart rate, like 4, 5, 6 or 7, and you can stay on it as long as you like. The powerful hub motor will vary the assistance to maintain your speed. Bike with crank drive motors require you to select the right gear, it can be quite demanding when you ride on an undulating road, you would constantly keep shifting gear.

we do offer bike shops a small trade discount.
Just ask them to order the bike for you.

Love the look of the Milano, Secret and Sprint from Kudos... and they have a distributor near me too.. thanks for your help
All parts are generic China stuff so easily replaced even many years later.
