Ezee bar swap

I quite fancy the h/bars that they fit on cadence, so if anyone wants to swap for my Forza ones or sell...../?


I. trust they would be interchangeable, not sure but suspect that i will have to change to longer cables anyone experienced this ?

Talking of handlebar swaps and longer cables, I am reminded of the "ape-hanger" craze that followed the release of the film "Easy Rider" in the UK. Whilst they were fun to ride, at least for short journeys, the motorcycle handlebar clamps were not designed to resist the torsional loads that ape hangers imposed during an emergency stop. I saw a case of such a stop at a pedestrian crossing where the bars rotated forward 90 degrees, and the rider did a sort of handstand over the front wheel before landing on his feet and running down the road taking strides several yards [metres?] long. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Or to put it another way, no apes were harmed during of the filming of this incident.

@Geostorm. You could quite likely source the same or similar bars from Ebay.

Hi Geostorm,

To be honest with you, I think the Cadence bars are best suited to the Cadence.

I rode one in China recently and it is the closest thing to cycling in an arm chair, just so comfortable and laid back, a real quality beach cruiser.

I did consider importing them to the UK, but I don't think the demand would justify it, please tell me if I am wrong.

One disadvantage of those wide bars is navigating through narrow gateways.

I think you are right for the UK John. I've only known one member (DBCohen) very keen on the Cadence, so much so that one was ordered in for him specially by 50cycles after they'd removed it from their eZee range.

There are still a number of venerable Cadence bikes around in the UK and still going strong.

I visited one recently in Hertfordshire to drop off a new battery and I have been contacted by a couple of owners with queries.

The latest incarnation is lovely and I am kind of tempted to get one for myself. My excuse to my wife would be it is a demo model

I know what you mean, in the mad 50s i had 650Truimph and fitted cow bars...supplied by american air base.... wild one style. kept original cables ok ......until you turned full lock then up went the revs...lol.

i see some dutch bars on fleabay not sure if suitable , i am not after chopper type but as i am built for comfort rather than speed, i find Forza bars narrow and flat.

I put a pair of standard'North Road' handlebars on my Tonaro Enduro. They are 24 inches wide

I had to get a longer front brake cable, all the others fitted. You can easily check before purchase, just remove all the electriccal connections from the existing handlebar and hold them approximately where they will be with a new bar. (It was the electrical ones that bothered me as I didn't fancy changing them)
The brake and gear cables are easy to change but probably not needed.

BY THE WAY......were bars black already or did you paint, only places where i tried say only can do in silver.

They are black, but don't ask me where I got them from, I see that at present, all offerings are chrome.
