Thanks for the link John, it's interesting that there seems to be a trend away from frame integral batteries, Giant, Powabyke, Powacycle Infineon, Cytronex, Izip etc. Even Kalkhoff with the Jubilee Pedelec F.

I would have thought that this type of bike might be cheaper to produce as a fairly standard frame can be used rather than a non standard 'stretched' frame. Maybe the extra cost over a Torq for example is due to the use of Magnesium Alloy for the frame rather than Aluminium.
Personally, I don't like the idea of carrier mounted batteries and wonder why more manufacturers don't opt for 'mid battery' mounting like Cytronex or the latest Powerbyke?

I don't like carrier batteries either, the downtube position seems better, but I suppose it's the short range with a moderate size battery that scares off most manufacturers. I don't know why we haven't seen them on the seat downtube front since they could be bigger there as the legs would hide them to a fair extent on the road.

That seems such a logical position for a battery and I wonder why no one has done it already? Time for someone to correct me.

I almost forgot Bionx when talking mid mount batteries.

Just called them re weight and price of battery but no one there.....

it is a 36v but only 10 amp battery. But I much prefer the style of this bike. with panniers you would hardly notice it was an E Bike.

The "infinium" looks similar but half the price:rolleyes:
