Hi All,

Do you have to replace the battery with a new one from eZee or is it possible to buy a cheaper battery ( perhaps via eBay) which could be fitted on the rear rack with some modifications to the wiring?

Thanks for any advice

The Quando motor made by Suzhou is their most powerful Bafang model which has a very high current demand, The battery has to be able to cope with a 20 amp discharge rate at least. While there are some cheaper batteries out there, most are not that much cheaper and many simply will not enable the motor to give full power and will have their life limited by the high demands.

The current Synergie Mistral battery has the same type number as the older Phylion made 10 Ah eZee battery, so it may even have the same fitting. They usually price lower, but they are currently out of stock. You could check with them though when more are expected:

A LiFePO4 battery from Li Ping would be a little cheaper perhaps, but you really need a high capacity type over 10 Ah to permit enough current without limiting the battery life. It coud be carried on the rear rack and wiring joined in under the battery platform.
