Hi, I have burn't out the windings on my old trusty Ezee Torq. I have failed to find replacement windings or a motor. Does anyone know if I could get the motor rewound or is there a cost effective alternative? Otherwise I think I will have to sell the parts for spares :(

Cheers,
Dave.

Depending on the model and year it's from, it may have a Bafang motor or the Ezee motor, you probably know which.

Although Cyclezee has shut down, they still have some parts and may be able to help. You can get in touch with him on the email address below:

Thanks flecc. I believe it is the bafang motor (8fun?). I will mail him and ask.

I have a new Ezee motor going spare. It's a front one with disc brake mounting holes. £100 plus postage if you want it.

No, it's an Ezee motor. It has 72 spoke holes, so you can fit just about any number of spokes you want:

What's the difference then? All these motors are 100mm wide with a 10mm wide axle. What is there not to fit?

The Mk1 Torq had a relatively small Bafang motor and I’m afraid I can’t help you with that, they were discontinued a long time ago.

I do have some of eZee’s own V2 motor cores as used in the later versions of the Torque, Sprint, Forza Mk1 etc., and could put together a complete V2 motor if required.

The V2’s won’t fit the Mk1 Torq without changing the forks as they are not wide enough to clear motor casing.

Which motor do you have then? It might help if you showed some pictures of it, including one from the front. There might be a few options.

There's three photos of the opened Bafang Torq 1 motor on this link which may help recognition, but it's stamped with the usual Bafang model details on the side plate if Dave looks. I can't remember what that was now, but have an idea it might have been an SW prefix. 22 mph on load in a 28" wheel and 26 mph off load.

Yeap, thats the correct motor. On the side plate is the stamp that says this.
