Similar to Toshiba's SCiB lithium ion battery which came out in 2007, which is an age ago in technology. That can supposedly charge to 90% in 5 minutes and withstand 6000 charge cycles.
Just wonder why we aren't all using something similar, the charger would probably have to be something like a welding plant to supply the amperage :(

The Toshiba SCiB battery is used by Schwinn on their Tongxin powered bikes, but it's disadvantage is very low capacity to weight and bulk. That's the opposite of what we want on e-bikes, we want low weight and small bulk, but Schwinn were always prone to adopting gimmicks.

The reason for that bulk and weight may be overcome by this new configuration, but it's bound to be extremely expensive if it ever sees the light of day. Most battery developments don't of course.

They are only 8 Ah, so that's the equivalent of over 3 hours for the usual 10 Ah hour that most bikes have, and about 4.7 hours for a 14 Ah. A touch on the fast side, but not especially so.
