Pre-electric bike I always preferred to ride a 28" wheel - I guess I like being up high on a big bike. I do however like to ride the sit up n beg style, so that is probably why. On a 26" I just personally don't like the feel so much. However, upon trying some lovely electric bikes one (I won't names as its a opinion of my own) 28" I felt very unsteady on - unsteady is probably not the correct word - I just didn't feel safe compared to its 26" wheel brother/sister bike. But upon trying other makes with 28" and 26" I found the Gepida to be the same ride (if not a bit better) in the 28". I just felt it fitted me perfectly.

So I guess its a decision based on trying them all out.

Well its arrived - only a tiny bit of of scratching from being in transit on the bike bike stand and other non essential areas (when I say tiny, I mean hardly a thing).

Just need to turn the handlebars on and dither upon screwing the pedals on the correct way around (mindful of someone on here recently posting that they did it wrong). I presume, that L for Left means your left as you are astride the bike?! Surely I'm not that much of a numpty?! Do I need any special tools to tighten them up?

Battery is now charging. Thankfully I have the internet to look up the English version of the foreign instruction manual.

Have to go out later in the car but hoping to be able to cycle this evening on this lovely sunny day . Then commute to work in the predicted rain and cold tomorrow. ;oP

Well done Penny, my problem now is that I used to rely on you being in my dithering gang and now I shall have to look for a replacement !!
You're not dithering you're just being diligent. I say this as one who procrastinated for over a year from first trying an electric bike to parting with my hard earned dosh. I followed the much repeated and good advice on the forum to try before buying and tried lots of bikes. I weighed up the pros and cons, cogitated long and hard and at the end of all my trials what did I choose? ...the first bike I'd tried.

I've always wanted to be a number ... rather than a free man. Hopefully rsscott will intervene and put me and the rest of us out of our collective misery ...

LOL.......no, dithering is what sensible people do whilst choosing the best for them from a sometimes confusing choice and then hopefully not making expensive mistakes .......and its educational and better still...... FUN :)

In your opinion. However the dithering on this forum is related to wanting an electric bike, wanting to get the best for each person's situation and the fact these bikes are expensive - no-one wants to make an expensive mistake if they can't afford to chop and change.

Now all I need to do is urgently decide on decent locks (help!)
I use an Abus Granit 80cm steel-o-flex round the frame. They are expensive (circa £70) and heavy but are one of the locks that everyone recommends.

Then, I bought the cable that fits the Axa lock you have standard on the bike. I slot this through the battery handle. Thus, the frame is secured by the two cables, the battery by one of them and its own frame lock and the rear wheel is locked, immovable and secured, by the Axa.

I know someone will reply to say that my locks are useless and that they could steal my bike using spit and a lolly handle but you do what you can
