Fitting larger chainrings to a TSDZ2

Hi, I'm planning a TZDZ2 conversion, but the 42T standard chainring seems rather small: I normally use a 48T on my triple chainset: is there likely to be any problem modifying to a 48 or 50T chainring (where, for example, would I get one to fit the TSDZ2?) and would there be any issues in its use?

Hope I can get appropriate advice here...

Have a 52t that i fitted to try and increase the top end, but felt it laboured over the 42t ,the motor liked a higher cadence . Also the spider and flat chainwheel spoiled the alignment even though it was sold specific for tsdz2 [purchased off ebay]

You don't mention how many speeds / sprockets you have on your cassette - how steep are hills you intend to climb and how fast do you intend to ride on the flat? My understanding of the TZDZ2 motor is that anything above 42 teeth on the chainring is not recommended and will potentially result in excessive wear / failure.

See: https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?tsdz2 for more info.

Thanks, Peter and Jodel, that was very helpful. I think I'll leave it as is, and see how that goes.
