Open up non working Sans charger mentioned in previous post expecting to find blown capicitors but discovering blackpowder over circuit board and other end where mains power comes in.Cleaned up and discover one of the 3 pins from the female power socket was moving in it's solder! A dry joint. Resolder and also the other power pin. Earth was ok.Given the socket was sparking before I should have guessed! Amazingly the circuit board was still working when I switched it back on. Green light steady as a rock.Possibly I was to blame over time as the power cable had to drape over a light switch next to the charger, lifting the plug to the charger slightly so possibly putting a strain on that small solder joint over a 2 year period. Lesson learnt!
Also I will order 4 capacitors to replace the originals as others have suggested. What are the yellow blobs for?
