I took my Tonaro Bighit for a ride last night to see my Brother it is about a 30 mile trip in total. Anyway, i had a truly fantastic ride and was about 1 mile from home riding on a really good condition cycle path. I saw a Fox about 50 meters away crossing the road. My first thought was this is fantastic riding into a lovely sunset in the country and now i see a fox PERFECT. I get close to where the fox had crossed the road and suddenly this damn fox shoots out of the hedge straight at the bike and takes me down !!!. He hit the front wheel with some force. One minute i was riding, the next on the ground, So i now have some scrapes and bashes on the new Tonaro and i have some road rash on my hands and face.

Sorry to hear that Shep :-( Sounds quite a nasty fall. It never ceases to amaze me how animals (particularly birds) ALWAYS decide they want to cross the road right in front of you and usually wait the very last minute to do so. I'm always wary of them and slow right down.

That must have been quite a fright shep (your real name John Noakes by any chance?). Good thing they banned hunting - you might have been more seriously hurt if 40 hounds and 20 horses were following right behind.

You have my deepest sympathy Shep, some might say you were lucky not to be more seriously injured, I would say you were unlucky:(

Whilst at Presteigne on Sunday and descending a steep and wet hill rather recklessly, a couple of ewes and lambs shot across my path. Evasive action would have meant ploughing into a hedge, so I just yelled at them and managed to get through between them without making contact:eek:

Having been brought up on a hill farm, I developed a dislike for mutton, lamb and anything to do with stupid sheep. I do love Border Collies though, highly intelligent creatures, but I couldn't eat a whole one;)

Ouch Shep! That must have hurt your body (a lot) and your pride in your bike.

I misjudged a gap on my non e bike the other day whilst taking evading action from my misjudgement I ended up scraping my arm along a flint wall. I continued cycling with blood pouring down my arm (they were only scratches but they really bled). The smaller the cut the more it hurts I reckon!

I bet you are bruised.
