Great as a backup I'd have thought cwah.

I'm a big believer in bright lights, especially in cities, and I just suspect the output of these isnt much to write home about

Thanks KirstinS.

I was also wondering about the brightness of these friction free light. I think I better go with some that are battery powered :)

I have been using this light for a while now. I use it all the time, both in daylight and night conditions. It is so bright that it is visible from a long distance in strong sunlight. My theory is that you can't be too visible.

Yeah, the Cree light are the most visible amonst most light.

I have cree led light now too, but I'm tired of replacing the batteries. I'm trying to find a way to avoid that (either by using my bike main battery or via dynamo)

The Magicshine rear light comes with a rechargeable battery which lasts about 6 hours. Thanks to forum member Lazy Viking, I've also used a DC-DC converter purchased off eBay for under a fiver to run the light off the bike battery.

I have a 12V DC-DC converter? would that work on this bike?

Ideally I'm looking for:
- A flashing red light
- A red brake light that appears when I brake
- And a left and right warning light.

Still wondering on the way I can achieve that lol

The DC to DC converter should work. The one I bought just had a potentiometer type screw that I just turned until I achieved the desired output.

I don't know about the brake light, that's something that I haven't looked into.

By left and right warning lights, do you mean amber lights for motorists to see if approaching you from the side? I'm on the lookout for something similar if so. Dealextreme have LED lights that push into the handlebar ends which seem ok in principle, but they only sell them with red LEDs. They may also be a problem to fit if you have a mirror fitted.

Ps that light I linked to has a flashing and a steady red mode. For some reason, I think a steady light is more attention grabbing than a flashing one.

Tillson, yeah I'm looking for the 2 amber light I can put on the side of my bike. Something visible but not using much space on my bike :)

Shemozzle, I've already purchased this light set. But the controller box is big and the light.. not that bright. I'm trying to find a more customizable setup. Probably purchase a stand alone set of flashing amber light, rear light and front light. Then connect all of them together onto my battery and an integrated switch lol.

Not sure how I can do that lol
