We've discussed this before a number of times. If it is charging the battery that is in use to drive the bike, it will be a motor vehicle in law and not an e-bike.

Even if it is charging another battery disconnected from the bike, it will still breach some other laws concerning roads use, but it will probably not be thought to be a motor vehicle. It could still be subject to motor vehicle pollution laws though, since those are environmental issues.

So, to play devil's advocate, if you put the petrol genny and spare battery in your rucksak - solved - surely there is no legisation about what's in your hand luggage yet !

(Not sure I'd want to though !!)

Definitely one for the lawyers to solve. My guess is that city and town pollution laws could still come into play, even with the road equivalents ruled out.

Frank, you might like to change your signature from Electric bike Suppler to Electric Bike Supplier. I guess that its just a typo that any of us could make.

It's that 15 number again Frank, just like the assist speed limit of e-bikes, remember that?

Your signature set already contains 8 of the letter "i" out of 53 letters, so has hit the 15% limit. :p :D

You could always leave your signature as a Suppler, just as long as you remain flexible in your approach to ebikes.
