I'm looking for some advice on a giant twist.
Which is considered a better model.. the 3 speed UK version '06 and earlier
or the USA 5 speed version, currently at NYCE? I will be going to the states soon and wonder if I am better off buying from NYCE and having a new bike, vx. trying to find a used, or ex/demo model. Any advice appreciated.

The Twist with the 5 speed SRAM hub is more versatile and I fitted that hub to my UK Twist Mary. It's range is a bit smaller though, 20 miles average with the 3 speed, 17/18 miles with the 5 speed.

Bear in mind the US version's lack of equipment. It has no dynamo, lights, mudguards or carrier, ours having the lot, though a new bike from Nycewheels is the best choice. A second hand bike here might mean you have to renew the battery at £250 each. That said, make sure Nycewheels can supply you a 220 volt charger, their standard one is 110 volts and no good in the UK without a transformer.

There's photos of both on my Twist site history page, US versions at the foot.

I can't really comment on the bikes themselves, but I bought my Bionx kit from NyceWheels, and Bert, who runs the shop, could not have been more helpful with my queries beforehand and service afterwards.
