I have been in China for the last few days at China Bike, a massive show of all that's new in the industry among some wonderful innovations I found this, it must be my favorite.





A bike with egg shaped wheels! Why didn't I think of it?

The obvious question I felt we all would have asked the inventor was..... why?

His answer, "because it is more like riding a horse". Stupid me!

They had something similar at Thorpe Park when I was a kid, great fun but horrible for more than a few metres.

Perhaps it was a side effect of riding it down the Chinese equivalent of Sanderstead Hill with no brakes....

When helping on a befriending scheme years ago we took a gang of kids to Thorpe Park who started by trying those offset wheel bikes. One kid quickly found the secret of how to ride them and went round the whole circuit, leaving all the rest for dead. He used a sort of bouncing rhythm that somehow matched the bike, so perhaps it is like horse riding!
