Hi all, another 8fun query i'm afraid. I have been very confused and a bit nervous about buying the right bit of
kit for my cargo bike but am now going to bite the bullet!
I would be very grateful for just one piece of advice.
Knowing that there are many knowledgeable people on here i'm sure i will get the right advice and be able to sleep well after parting with my hard earned cash. And i promise never to ask this question again.

If i buy this
http://www.greenbikekit.com/36v-250w-350w-500w-8fun-bafang-motor-bbs-01-central-driven-motor-electric-bike-kit.html

and this
http://www.greenbikekit.com/36v-15ah-li-ion-rear-rack-battery.html

Will i be able to ride off into the sunset!

Many Thanks in advance
Pete

The kit is very good. But how are you going to mount the battery? you'll need the mounting kit for your battery - a slider and a box at the saddle end.
something like this:

Re BMS: always take the high discharge rate option.

Hi Trex, Thanks for your reply and glad you think its a good kit. I thought about making a box to go on my rear rack but maybe i should just buy a battery rack like in your picture. Perhaps maybe this battery combination?

Or do you know where i can find a rack for a 26" wheel that would fit the 36V15AH Battery?
Thanks again
Pete

you need to buy the rack with the battery because the slider needs to fit the grooves on the battery. Just ask greenbikekit for a rack to go with your selected battery, they are about $30. Don't bother with the 10AH battery, you'd be watching the battery meter more than the road. I have the same motor on my bike and I can vouch for its performance.

So it will be the 36v15ah 20A/40A battery with rear rack to fit this battery.
Thanks again trex I really appreciate your help and advice and now feel confident enough to go ahead and order.
PS what size motor do you have 250W / 350W or more powerful?

I had one of the first BBS01s - 36V 15AH, the 350W version (36V 25A) weren't available. If I buy now, I'd go for the 36V 25A.

When you say 36V 25A do you mean 250W motor?
Sorry if i'm being a bit thick!

There are 4 versions: the 36V 15A (250W) has EN15194 certificate, the 36V 25A is made for the American market (350W). The 48V 15A is also 350W, the 48V 25A is 500W version. The 15A motors have 60NM torque, 25A motors 80NM torque. 36V version have 83 RPM, if I remember correctly, the 48V have 120 RPM.

Yes okay the numbers dont even make sense.
But consider this, what are Bosch doing making a motor that doesnt integrate normally with a standard bike frame.
What's with GNG and many others doing making motors with sprockets and exposed flywheels when the simple. elegant solution is to wrap it all up and integrate with the bottom bracket?
This unit is a beautiful solution, even if it turns out to break down all the time!

Update!!
Having tried and tried to contact Greenbike through there contact page about a rear rack for battery and not having any success, I have decided to just give it a miss.
It's just been a waste of time.
