The bike fix scheme I think won't get much bike work done for the fee.

More interestingly is the other initiatives involved in the Govt's raft of proposals in addition to the scheme. New cycling lanes proposed with proper segregation from other road traffic and no schemes involving painted lines or flat painted cycles on the road will be funded. Closure of local rat run's to allow better cycle free/pedestrian area's, only allowing access for deliveries.
During the lock down what was noticeable riding my bike was the cleaner air noticed, as soon as vehicles were back on the road in numbers the quality soon went down and I could sense it so the riding mask went back on.

Good point, I don't really suppose much work can be carried out for £50 at a shop. The seed of an idea to 'get my bike fixed' will be sown though and we may well see a lot more bikes out and about shortly.

I have a good local bike dealer who will do a major service for £45 inc VAT so I'm hoping the NI government will follow the lead and offer these vouchers and then I can treat my old non electric Raleigh to some TLC
