grinding to a halt

Once again my Wisper has ground (literally) to a halt. I was pumping up the hill home late last night, and a grinding noise from the controller and rear wheel led to a full failure. Waiting for a few seconds (to catch my breath as well) and now it feels really underpowered and sounds like a sack of spanners in a dryer.

I reckon getting to it with contact cleaner will do the trick, so its a lunchtime job. News as I have it.

Anton.

Hope that does the trick Anton, sounds like a poor Hall wire connection between the motor and controller.

If the contact cleaner doesn't work, unplugging and replugging the motor to controller connectors should remake them and get it going.

Thanks Flecc. Dismantled the connections, cleaned them up, but it still sounds like a grindy/whiney thing, and cuts out from time to time. Last time Wisper replaced the whole controller. I do cycle up a solid hill, and I'm not the lightest. I never heard what was wrong with the old one (if anything). I wonder if its overheating or otherwise straining itself!

I'm taking it to the guy I bought it from on Monday, and he can spend some time having a look.
