Haibike's - What do you think?

The haibike I fancy is fs Rx pro , none of the above
Hello Cakey,

The models above are the particular ones coming into the UK from the range.
Its important to keep it to a few models as to not dilute the range too much.

If you can imagine from our point of view, that's 3 models in 3 sizes. That's 9 bikes before you know it. That's not to say we cant special order one for you.

I may point out that, the FS RX Pro & FS All Mountian both share the same 400Wh battery and motor, and both share almost the same drive-train. But there is a slight difference in the Shocks and Brakes, fancy seatpost. I think there will be about £350 difference in price between them. So they are not too far apart.

Hi Martin
I am happy to special order , but as per previous dealer , sorry sold out .
Not yes I can get you one :)
The problem with off road bikes , they are not cultured paths and trails we all ride on .
The peaks and Scotland have rough knarly paths , strewn with rocks and roots.
Most ebikes are built to a road / cross standard .
My storck would be in 4 bits after a couple of weeks on my off road trails.
In fairness to haibike they are really moving forward , time will tell whether they last the course.

I suppose some will question my motives for buying one , and why not just ride my pedal bikes off road .
When I go out alone , I just like the pleasure of not killing myself everyday.

That was the answer I got. I suppose if you have no stock , best thing to say is sold out.
Eddie that Swiss flyer looks pretty close.
One thing I must say, the future is looking really exciting in the ebike world

Hi Martin
Any ideas on cost and when available fs Rx pro
Hello Cakey,

I did drop you a PM a couple of days ago...
I am speaking with Haibike in January and will put the question of special ordering to them. I will also find out stock levels and when we could expect to see one.

I will speak to them about pricing, I cannot confirm anything until the UK Distributor can confirm this with me.

I cant promise anything but will do my best to find out some info for you.

I will keep you updated when I hear more in January. Prices should be sooner.

Speak Soon

Martin

Hello Hugh,

Brilliant, I have also contacted the manufacturer regarding these.
Please let me know how you get on, the installation looks really simple.

Obviously there are the installation instructions on the page of that product.
But the most useful picture regarding getting the wires round the right way; I found was in the disclaimer file - Here it is to help with your install.

Good luck Hugh, it looks easy anyway!

The real question that's bugging me is to find out what the actual difference is between the 2 different kits they offer, one for 26" wheels and 700c wheels.
I can only presume there is a difference in the signal sent from the 'headphone jack' to work with either wheels size.

Martin

I've now installed and tested the dongle over 30 miles or so. It's easy to fit - the worst job is replacing the splash guard on the motor :(. It's one of those things where you juggle around for ages and suddenly it all slots together OK.

The dongle is removable to return the bike to its original state - just unplug it.

When it behaves itself, it's very effective. The only problem is, I'm running a 42t chainring, and I've asked the company in Germany that supplies the dongle if this may be the cause of the intermittent Error 120 that I get in all modes except Eco.

It's not consistent - stop, turn off battery, start again, and it'll be OK

I need to get that resolved before I go about measuring its effect on range.

Speedo gets readings halved so I've added a Cateye wireless one so that I know how far and fast I'm going.

Cheers, Hugh

Cakey,

Hello Cakey,

I am meeting with Haibike tomorrow, I have asked them in advance about the possibility of ordering you a special 'one off' as I know you were interested in the RX Pro.

I need to know what size you would be after and Im fairly confident that at the right price I could get one of these over for you pretty soon, could be looking at 2 weeks.

If you could let me know a size asap, that would be great. I can find you a price.
I have also dropped you a quick PM.

I will be on this number today and tomorrow - 01420 544999

Regards

Martin
