I have just bought used sprint, i would like to upgrade gearing as only 3 speed or do i need to look for nexus 7 ,just wondered if anyone experienced this and can advise me, also do you derestrict the same as the torque, as can be be used offroad. ?
Your Sprint probably uses the larger diameter motor that was unique to the Sprint and Chopper models for years and there is no derestrict on those. They just run to the maximum possible on the voltage, about 16/17 mph on a freshly charged battery but gradually slowing to about 15 on a nearly empty battery.
I'd advise the 8 speed Nexus if you are having a new hub gear, it's far superior to the old design 7 speed.

Tony thanks for reply, do you think it would be wise to try changing to other gears, i know that you always appeared to favour nimh over lithium batteries with this model do you still feel that way inclined ?
Sadly the NiMh option is no longer available for the eZee models, but since I originally made that remark the lithium ones have improved beyond all measure and I'm much happier with them now. The 14 Ah is the best.
If the 7 speed is working ok I'd stick to that since it's gear range suits the Sprint, just pause when changing gear and it works ok. If it ever fails the 8 speed would be a better option then.
