Hi, just joined.
I'm not an owner/rider yet, though know a lot of people who rider electric and they are starting to bring them into my cycle shop for servicing and repair. I trained in mechanical engineering 37 years ago, started my business 4 years ago and have just moved into the High Street, Presteigne. Anyone remember Tour de Presteigne?
Hopefully be able to offer some advice and benefit from all sections on this site and possibly pick up some obsolete parts in the classifieds, oh, and before anyone asks...I haven't joined for financial gain or have any desire to advertise my business....this site is a useful resource for all so hopefully I can contribute and meet efriends.....shocking!!!

I have many happy memories of the Tour de Presteigne. It's a shame we no longer have any events like that. they used to bring everybody together, so you got to meet people face to face.

There's lots of money to be made from events. Anybody who picks up this idea and runs with it could be a multi-millionaire in 15 or 20 years time. Look what happened to the BMF motorcycle rally and the Kent Custom and Classic motorbike show. I can remember when they started as a few guys meeting in a field. The Hells Angels started the Kent show, when they had old cut-down Triumphs and maybe a couple of old Harleys. Now they all trailer their full-spec fully customised HDs to the show, towed by top-spec fully customised range Rovers with personal number plates.

I completely agree Dave, the events were absolutely brilliant. They would take a lot of organising and previous attempts by Dave at Kudos have not done well enough to keep going. It was amazing the number of people that pitched up on the boarders of mid Wales. A great time was had by all!
