Pedelec classification/rating is fine as it is , EN15194 is world wide and many countries use it . Also the UK also has the extra specific LPM250w rating which allows full throttles provided one has the V5 certification.

This chestnut goes round in circles all the time and people think they know better , they don't. The current concessions with EN15194 allows EAPC'S to be treated the same as pushbikes as long as one sticks to the highway code.
What they want is unlicensed mopeds to be the norm for all, when in fcat it is only the minority who want to ride around at 20+ mph .

I agree after riding for a while now a throttle unless some one is disabled and needs one is not needed in my opinion on a cycle .
What you guys originally suggested with builds is more Torque I now see is better for those not so fit and want to move off quicker .

If you want to go fast put a road legal kit on a light weight road bike and pedal faster once the 15MPH cut off speed is reached .

Or buy a motorbike
