So I am still searching for a suitable controller for my ebike
The motor cable has 9 wires within in it.
Any advice is appreciated.

All controllers will work with your motor. They have different performance characteristics. You have to tell us what you're trying to achieve.

That looks like an OEM controller. It won't be easy to find an identical one. Are you OK with wiring and soldering?

The 9pin connector is standard, but you will need a motor extension lead from the controller to the motor connector because after-market controllers don't have a long motor cable attached, like yours does.

Hi vfr400
Thanks for your advice
All I want is to be able to use the thumb throttle and preferably use different levels of pas. I am OK with soldering but I have searched the Internet for hours and hours trying to find a similar controller, there are 3 thicker wires leading to the motor, do you think I can get going with just those,?
Do you know what the other 5 might do?
Once I have found a controller it shouldn't be too difficult to match a display I would imagine
I am astounded that there seems to be nothing like my controller.
I had a reply from topbike who I think are based in Asia likely China of course. It read "we no have your controller or display we can fit your system " . Missing out 'that'.
Any further advice would be helpful. Thanks
Tad

Topbikekit are a good company, but like many Chinese suppliers, they struggle with the English language.

There are lots of suitable controllers, but you haven't given any details of your bike, how much power you need, what battery you have and what current your present controller allows.

The other 5 wires are for the motor hall sensors. 5 rather than 6 indicates no speed sensor in the motor.

There are many electronic companies in China that make controllers and ebike electronics, of which most are obscure or unheard of. Most of these electronics are OEM only and not available on the open market for the likes of us and you to buy.
Kuenteng and Bafang are the two well known big players where one can buy after market controllers. Lishui is another but there products are scarce.
The main issue is most of these companies only deal with trade and not the man in the street so simply buying any direct replacement is impossible.

To get best help you need to put up a few more photo's.
A picture of the whole bike.
Detail of the motor with any markings on it and connector.
Detail of battery type, also any markings on it.
Detail of bottom bracket area including pas disc.

Controllers and displays normally come as matched pairs and are best bought at the same time from the same supplier/manufacturer.

In most cases it is best to spend about £70 and replace controller & lcd with the popular user friendly KT model, though some soldering may be needed or swapping wire order on the odd connector. Non being to hard to do, advice and what goes to where is freely given on the forum.
For a lesser system one can spend £30 - £40 on other controller systems though they tend to be more shove in the back systems then gentle assist.
