Would one of these be handy with a Bafang BBS01 motor?

Andrew
Not really. You'd need to make special adapters for the connectors that you can get at, and you have to dismantle the unit to get at the motor wires.

:p
You'd need a nicely curved splosh-guard on the front, to return all the water when you stopped a bit smartish!

We've heard plenty about the Panasonic drive "surge", but I bet this one'd be interesting to ride :)

Just to conclude the thread: turned out it was a faulty controller, not the throttle.

I fitted a KU93 (thanks Jumpin for supplying, D8veh for recommending) and aside from the shenanigans with connectors and phase sequence, it worked fine.

Thanks for all the advice everyone, much appreciated as ever.

....oh, and while was test riding around the industrial estate where my workshop is, I got some odd looks from the other guys on site. It may have been the size, the colour, the plastic bucket or the flowers in the wicker basket what done it. It may have been been the speed of the thing, or the fact that I drove it up the ramp and onto the weigh bridge.
