Hi all, after a week of searching I think I've found a motor for my KMX Cobra trike, and I'm after any opinions good or bad on my choice. I've no experience with hub motors, I've only ever used a BBSHD, so any advice would be great. This is the kit, and it's going on a 24" wheel http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122225193749, and I'm going to pair it with a pair of 60v 20Ah batteries, https://pedalease.co.uk/index.php?rt=pr ... y=13172399, for a noob how are my choices, thank you.

Why not go with bbshd again?
Hub choice? ..be prepared to do rolling burnouts!
Here's one with a BBS01B.
Battery mounting is likely biggest consideration. Where did you plan to mount all that battery power?

Sent using this crappy tapatalk app. that has such poor functionality I can't even click 'like'!

If I were going to spend that much on batteries, I'd want to know what cells are in them. Jimmy at Insat will make you a custom battery with Panasonic/Samsung GA cells, which would weigh about 10 kg for 2400Wh. That's 5kg lighter than the ones you indicated, which is a significant saving.

You won't be pedalling much with a single speed. and getting home if you have a failure will be fun if it involves hills due to the above and the 18 kg weight increase.
Get the battery the pack as far forward as you can as the weight of the motor is already going to have an effect on handling.

Fit 2 good torque arms!!!!

It will be a motor bike/trike if that is what you are after.
Smoking!
