Hi! I'm mattlad! Just joined the forum, I am thinking of getting a pedelec, not sure what to get yet so basically asking everything there is to know about pedelecs that I am too afraid to ask! I anticipate that I will be using it to go to Mum and Dad's, (2 miles) to and from the pub, around the local neighbourhood and on canal towpaths. (We have a boat in the family.)

Just to complicate things I picked up some damage to one of my knees when I was mis-spending my teens so I think a pedelec would be a better solution for me than an ordinary push-bike.

Looking forward to your advice and recommendations!

Welcome - you'll be spoiled for choice! Try and ride as many as you can - some excellent dealers post here. Do you have plenty of storage space? If not a folder might suit you. Read some reviews. An ebike sounds ideal for you!
Best wishes,
Tom

Theres a kalkhoff pro connect on ebay right now, and an offer of £600 should get it. I recently bought one and its the best thing Ive ever bought. Very well made and goes well.

Hi Mattlad,

Welcome to the Pedelec Forum, you are in the best place for helpful advice.

You don't mention a budget which is always a good starting point for people to give advice.

I do note that you will be making relatively short journeys, so there would seem to be no reason to spend a fortune.

Cyclezee supply the eZee range of electric bikes starting at £750, so maybe the eZee Sprint Primo would be good bike for you.

As an alternative you could choose a non powered bike that you really like and have an eZee electric conversion, see more here eZee Conversion Kits - electric bikes and conversion kits.

Obviously my views are biased, but this is what other people think Testimonials - electric bikes and conversion kits

Regards,

Hello again, and thanks for the welcome! At the moment I have not set a budget, if I find something that I want I'll find the money one way or the other! Might get something 2nd hand, cheap and cheerful to start off with, and if I like it I may well splash out on a good 'un!

Hope I don't embarrass myself by asking too many daft questions before I buy! I have found a dealer not too far from me so I may well have a wander down there in the next week or two........

Looking forward to chatting some more with you!
