Wasn't yesterday a fantastic day for a ride. I was delivering a bike down to Looe in Cornwall so I took advantage of being in the area to have a ride over to Fowey and back. The hill down to the ferry in Polruan was sketchy going down (on my Brompton - do all Bromptons have rubbish brakes?) and I wondered if anyone had cycled up it on their pedelecs? I got the ferry across to Fowey and came back a different way but it think it would be a real challenge for most e-bikes. Not sure of the gradient, perhaps one of the Strava users on here could check it out?

They did, but about two or three years ago Brompton introduced a new cantilevered brake lever.

Brakes on those bikes are much improved.

Online chatter suggests old style brakes can be improved by changing the pads.

And/or you could fit new style levers.
