I realise that to many that distance may not seem that great, but to me it's an achievement. Up until July of this year the concept of even riding a normal bike was one that I'd never really considered, so buying an electric bike was even more weird.
Owning and riding this bike as and when I can grab the time, has given me a whole new lease of life, and a fantastic and healthy hobby along the way.

I'm for one very grateful for electric bikes, and look forward to covering many more KM to come.

If I get my act together and just for fun, perhaps I shall start a 2014 Overall Mileage Discussion Thread. That way we could all share our mileages and challenges as the year goes along. I'm sure that my 1000km is nothing more than a mere passing to many, but reading about the riding experiences of others, is good motivation to get out and ride. :)

Well done on cracking the 1000 mark!
Xmas 2012 Mrs H bought me one of those cheap little bike computers. I'd never been bothered before about milleage, but I decided to set myself a challenge - 1000 miles in 2013. I hit my target in early September, so I know exactly how you felt when the digits clocked over from 999.9.

What's your target for 2014?

If you start that thread, I think it would need to be two - one for leisure users (like myself and presumably you too) and one for the commuters. Good to see you had decent weather this morning - up here it was a succession of hail and sleet showers all day. Considering how 'uncommon' hail is, we seem to have had nothing but for the last seven days!

The morning was rubbish, and for the second day in a row, water has been getting into the house. :( The trouble is to sort it out I need a ladder that is approx 18m high, and no way am I going to do that.

Anyway, the ride this afternoon was fine but wet. As this photo from Pooh bridge shows, we even had a bit of sunshine. :)

Ref the annual mileage discussion thread, I don't think that it would matter too much. It was for a bit of fun, and just a way of hearing about other peoples exploits, perhaps getting encouragement, and hopefully a bit of friendly banter along the way.
Sadly I have to use my van to travel to and from work each day, and the option to commute rarely arises. All of my mileage would be just for leisure. :)

I wasn't being serious either - should have put some emoticons in:eek: There's a vicarious pleasure in reading about the rides others do. :)

Well done on hitting the 1,000 mark, especially as you do a lot of miles off-road. It's one perk of having your computer set on metric rather than imperial ... you get to smile and reflect that little bit sooner

Clocked 1,000 miles on my self-build Trek recently since fitting the cycle analyst in June, but the vast majority of that was over Summer. No miles in recent fortnight and very few in last month so have finally rolled over ... insurance sorted and car getting wheeled back in as of Tuesday just in time for Christmas  . Riding in these storms is no fun at all and the wind has been excessive on the coast :( Higher temperatures are all very well, but realizing how much the settled (if colder) Winter weather last year was a blessing in comparison. Been car-free for 15 months and for UK, mother nature has been extremely kind throughout until these last weeks. So very thankful all in all, remaining optimistic and no immediate plans to ditch either of the bikes.

That is one of the annoying aspects of the BH, you can't change the computer from KM to miles. :)

On the plus side I get to have another beer in 609km time.:D

1000miles since June. That seems like good going to me. :)

The last few weeks really have been crap weather wise, and I had been looking forward to going out for a leisurely ride on Xmas day morning, but that is now looking doubtful.

Soon be summer!
