How does the ezee battery condition meter work

After wiring to the ecrazyman controller,there are no longer any connections to the ezee battery condition monitor,i know advice to tape over it as it is not very accurate has been given in the past,but out of interest could it be wired direct to the battery,also can the lights be wired direct.

I don't know if the meter will work at the correct levels to show content if wired direct, I've never looked in to that aspect on my older bike and yours could be different anyway.

If your lighting is the headlamp with a cluster bulb of 7 LEDs together with a single LED rear lamp, those do run directly from the battery voltage.
