How hard can it be?

Hello again, so put my project on hold and bought a dillenger 1000w hub kit so l can ride something. I ve been thorough and l can make it do anything.
I haven't ridden it at all, because l assumed l turn battery on, press bar switch and press thumb throttle and bingo. Nothing.
I ve checked everything, connections aren't great to go together but colour coded and arrows to allign up. Realised that when display is turned on everything lights up then after 2 second s all goes out leaving flashing battery with no bars and a scary engine management light flashing.
What have I missed?

The battery needs charging, quite simple really.

I can't send the video but didn't realize what the display was telling me. When the battery is on and the display pressed it show 8h and a flashing carlike engine management symbol. Someone on Facebook and another site online said this is an error code for hall sensor. Any thoughts?
