I was thinking -- well someone probably already designed a full aerodynamic cover for a bicycle that worked pretty well, so I went looking for it.

I've made some things out of fiberglass before -- doubt I'll get around to trying it; though, it doesn't look too hard to copy.

They are great on the flat in still air or direct headwinds, but with crosswinds they can be very dangerous and hill climbing is murder due to the added weight.

Velomobiles, which are fully streamlined recumbent trikes, are very popular in the low countries where strong headwinds across the plains are a problem, the low tricycle layout giving stability then.
