What is going on tonight ?
I have been signed out at least 6 times tonight and what a nightmare at first to remember my password......and then I'm thinking......oops ...who have I upset ? Why am I being logged out....is someone trying to tell me something ??
Does no one like me anymore............
or is it just a glitch :D

Hi Lynda

I've had this problem since I joined the site a few days ago.

I'm not clearing cache / cookies etc, just browsing as normal.
It must be a glitch, as it's not normal for any site user to have to continually log in like this (apart from when using online banking which IS the norm)

I think my log ins here last about an hour max :(

Hi Tara,
it must just be some sort of glitch.
Think yourself lucky you managed to join quickly.....
It took me a year to get approved......I was definately starting to feel unwanted then :D
I nearly gave up....but I am quite determined sometimes LOL
Its a great forum though.......lots of help and some great laughs.......

Tara, there's a little check box just after where you enter your username and password. No title, but if you check it you should stay logged in for ever....
Frightening really!

Ooh Lynda......I've just got a tick box that says 'remember me' - Ticking those boxes does nothing with AOL though (maybe I should browse the site thru Firefox instead)

It's quite quiet here isn't it? Can you recommend any similar forums for electric bike interested peeps? ;)

I wouldn't leave here, but would like to glean as much info as possible :)

Quiet ??? LOL.......stick around Tara......I find its anything BUT quiet :D

A forum is what its members make it and we have all sorts on here.....
Lots of knowledge, thats for certain, lots of people willing to spend their time helping all newcomers and oldies alike.......
Lots of people popping in and out......lots who are online most days......quite a few really amusing people that you can have a bit of banter with......a few who are only obsessed with technicalities that are way over my head.
Personally, I like to have a bit of fun and banter whilst learning too...

If you want to glean more info start searching through the old posts by putting in what you are looking for into search, I have found out a lot of info about different bikes by doing that......and an insight into the mind sets of various members :D
There are maybe a couple of victor meldrews but nothing like one of my motorhome forums !

No doubt someone will be along to advise on other forums....eddieo seems to be liking the german pedelec forum but I have suggested he comes back over to the dark side.....:D

Learn, enjoy, have fun Tara.....hope you decide on your new bike soon

I have been a member here since 2007, but since this this site was upgraded a while back now I cannot edit update or delete my own posts and the dealers have all but taken over, I have stopped posting here on my DIY builds, most electric bike DIYers, like me use the Endless sphere forum which is still independent from dealers and advertiser and people still have control of there threads.

I have to constantly log in and refresh....

I use XP if I use te laptop windows 7 no problem.....BUT why is it just with this site I wonder? all the others I visit work fine with XP:confused:

It really is a pain, I see a new contribution, go to end of thread and nothing there! until I refresh. I have to refresh or log in constantly, there must be a bug or some bugs somewhere.

The PM section is now far more difficult to navigate IMO

I understand the Edit function on a post is only present for about two hours to allow corrections or deletion, thereafter the post becomes permanent. I only find that a problem in the Technical section where the permanent posts do need to be updated to reflect design and specification developments over time. For that reason I no longer contribute there, confining such posts to my own website where they can be kept up to date.

I agree that this site is more suited to the mainstream of consumer e-biking, the more specialised technical aspects often better suited to Endless Sphere. However, that does imply that the trade input is relevant here, and of benefit to newcomers to e-biking in a way that it is not relevant to Endless Sphere. The difference in many cases are therefore probably more evolutionary than by design.

Just had a peek of that forum, and entered 'Trike' & 'Tricycle' into the search box, and everything went a bit peculiar

Is it an American site?

I think so Tara......go back on and open up 'Forum Rules' then

Just for information, ever since I've used the site I've logged on automatically and seamlessly on both my desktop pc and latterly on my iPad as well.

I mention it simply to say that any problem with having to constantly log on is a problem at the user end, not with the forum's software.

Most likely the problem is not ticking the 'keep me signed in' box or setting the browser to clear cookies and cache on quitting.

well I just tried a clear out as suggested above...makes no differnce:rolleyes:

like I said earlier this does not happen with windows 7 laptop, only with my older XP PC

A: it is not just me having this problem....

B: all other forums I visit dont have this problem either...

Soooo it has got to be this end not my end:p

Or maybe its a conflict with Kaspersky (internet protection 2011)
